I'd rather have Sun Ra than his aunt.

No - if tantrum is the nominative, it must be neuter.

... my OED, for tantrum , has 'origin unascertained'. I'm not sure we can ascribe any latinity to it...

According to my trusty dictionary the plural of 'tantrum' is 'tantrums', but I do not wish to complicate things further between the forum scholars ...

I suppose one response to the throwing of a tantrum might be "calm down, dear"...

This is not about lexicographical one-upmanship, it's about whether or not he meant it about the minimum wage. Where's the host when you need him?

Mr Cameron has said that he will make the minimum wages of sinning for up to 30 hours per week tax free.

Note: He didn't say that National Insurance would still be levied, but if you're going to sin, even if only on a part time basis, it's probably a good idea to have some form of insurance.

Where's Dave himself when you don't but you'd still like to know what he meant, assuming that he himself knows?

But he seems not to have confirmed or denied whether this would apply to zero hours contracts...

The verdict seems to be that this is a political thread and breaks the House Rules.
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.
