    Stan Freberg RIP

Stan Freberg was a staple of 'Children's Favourites' when I was wee. Alongside Bob Newhart he seemed able to make me smile even when I'd heard the songs before. St George and the Dragnet, Banana Boat Song and in later years I discovered 'John and Marsha' which seems to have been banned by the Beeb...wonder why!

But my favourite was his take on Mitch Miller's 'Yellow Rose of Texas' which I seem to recall the BBC had a cartoon featuring a rabbit to play along. Loved it...still do.

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

    I 'preciate it.

I 'preciate it too. Thanks for posting; I had missed the report of his death.
