    Bogotá es Mozart festival

    Morning all,

Long time, no visit. Last week, I had the pleasure to attend a remarkable festival in Bogotá and thought you'd enjoy reading my experiences/ reviews. This article has generated much interest (you can also see review links on the right of the page):

An astonishing festival of Mozart in Bogotá reaches a life-enhancing climax for our editor as 1300 people squeeze into a church to experience the great composer's music.

    Many thanks for that IGI.

What an inspiring and extraordinary event. What an inspiring start to the day. And what a terrific article.

Not surprised it has had an effect - the man can't half write, can he? Chapeau.

What an amazing event. Can well imagine that something like Ave verum was an overwhelming experience in those circumstances. Thanks for the report, IGI.

"I couldn’t help wondering what the turnout of young Londoners would be to a free concert of Mozart quartets." Western youngsters need more of an injection of the spiritual - of some sort.
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

          Thanks for the report, IGI.

Anyone familiar with Bogota's history shouldn't be too surprised at this enormous success. Until our Spanish circle started discussing Juan Gabriel Vasquez's "El ruido de las cosas al caer" I knew nothing about Colombia or Bogota which seemed to have been ruled from the 60s to the 90s by the infamous Medellin Cartel and its boss Pablo Escobar, drug baron extraordinaire.

Thanks for your kind words, everyone. It was an incredibly moving, humbling experience and - for once - the words came easily.
