I agree that Ms Sturgeon is one very scary lady.

I know that I won't be voting Conservative this time round simply because Cameron will not support the banning of slaughter without stunning for fear of upsetting 5% of the population who we, as a country, seem to fall over backwards in not wishing to 'upset'. Also the Government, totally ignores the discrimination against Sikhs because there is no mandatory food labelling requirement to identify Halal meat which their (the Sikh) religion forbids them to eat.

        Or cry more like

It's so sad to see (with some small exceptions) folks who think that ALL people care about is self interest.
        Sad and predictable

And don't be so patronising it's not "oddball" but rude

I'm looking forward to Scottish devolution which is more likely than ever

              She's very good indeed.

At the risk of stating the obvious, no man who spoke so cogently and effectively would be called scary.

And it was Leanne Woods (Plaid) who gave the lie to Nigel:

Well done to both of them.

She is indeed, jean, and I take your sexism point, but I for one also find Mr Salmond scary precisely because he is so cogent and effective (and charming, as is Ms Sturgeon). Economics aside, I'm also worried that (whatever the rights and wrongs of the argument, which I won't rehearse here), one part of the UK should be calling the shots on the defence policy of the whole UK thanks to an accident of topography. Though I suppose we might end up with Trident here in Milford Haven, alongside oil refineries and natural gas storage plant and power station......

Well leaving aside your implied insinuation that to say someone is 'scary' is sexist, I did not think that any of them were particularly cogent. Male or female, not that gender matters.

I find Nicky Morgan and Michael Gove equally scary.

'Nigel' spoke, I thought, cogently and effectively - in promulgating his narrow, mendacious, isolationist and xenophobic agenda - and he is REALLY scary

At least Ms Morgan has the distinct advantages of being much better-looking and clearly more intelligent than Mr Gove ...

                            Not that I'm sexist, mind.

I still think much as I did before about the main parties. Their leaders didn't surprise me in any way.

The only person I changed my view about was Nicola Sturgeon. I've always loathed her, though I admit it's partly because her harsh voice makes her very difficult for me to listen to. Last night it sounded more bearable (just), and I thought she made some excellent points.

I'm horrified to see that Farage has done so well in the polls. I thought the fact that he appeared to be interested in only one subject would make people dismiss him. Apparently not.

Farage is a powerful and charismatic figure. A lot of people love him and 'buy into' his smoking/drinking act ('it means he's one of us...')

This week, I was talking to a 27-year old unemployed warehouse worker, who has recently 'become interested in politics'. He told me 'didn't care' which party go in, 'as long as it's not Labour'. Labour, he claimed, had wrecked the country during its 13 years in power.

Of course, he didn't recall that the Tories had been in power for 18 years before that....
