    I suspect (though I coul

Still, whether one is right or wrong, it is surely much, much more important for one to retain one's sense of humour, don't you think?

So, if I don't take myself too seriously it's a safe bet I'll feel much the same about you!
    Stop digging, Tippsy.

This is all going on way above my head. Hopefully, Caliban is keeping a hostly eye on things.

If they wished to proceed in their vocations they needed the experience of myself and others like me, but since I had once been in their shoes, we seemed to get along.

Lighten up, everyone. This was supposed to be an April Fool thread.

                It's all simmering nicely
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
                Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

... and when I'm still in thoughtful mode .... 'an hostly' doesn't sound quite right to me but I'm very reluctant to be too pedantic about it.

Ann Hathaway would sound too Shakespearian, even for Caliban.

That was definitely a typo - now corrected.

I heard this on the way to work. Oddly, I thought it was genuine to begin with until Beckham was interviewing at a fashion show! The curious thing about this was that, as anyone who reads "When Saturday comes" will tell you, some of the stuff FIFA are up to do verge on the boundaries of credibility. Some of the stories about FIFA in this publication do not necessarily get reported fairly and evening in the UK, even within the broadsheets. I think the story was credible even if not very amusing. The interview with Harry Redknapp gave the game up because I can't believe that anyone would really want to hear his opinion on the game!

The story did start off on a credible track as there are moves afoot to break away from FIFA as many European football bodies feel increasingly dissatisfied with the organisation. Some of the incidents I have read about regarding Sepp Blatter would make the clear Marmite story seem credible.
