    Becomes a little hippophile
    Or else a little balletomane.

Sorry, irrelevant - but rather nice.

          As far as Jean's....

...one is reminded of Iolanthe; such bits as:

When in that House MPs divide
If they've a brain and cerebellum too,
They've got to leave that brain outside
And vote just as their leaders tell 'em to.

          and

The House of Peers throughout the war
          Did nothing in particular
          And did it very well
Or Pinafore where we find in "When I was a lad..." from the Ruler of the Queen's Nayvee

..I grew so rich that I was sent
By a Pocket Borough into Parliament

...I always voted at my party's call
I never thought of thinking for myself at all!!

          And then of the Navy:

Of Legal knowledge I acquired such a grip
That they took me into the Partnership
          and that Partnership I ween
Was the only Ship I ever had seen!!

Plus la change. And all because he'd started as an Office Boy to an Attorney's Firm by polishing the handle on the Big Front Door. Egalitarian or what?

It seems to have been commonplace, if recent exposes are to be considered. I wonder what his name was...
