Joe Strummer and Mick Jones were sent to Jamaica to write reggae songs for their next album. Their stay was a scary experience and caused them to reflect on their environment back in the UK.

Great band, great song, underrated album.

One does wonder what the actual difference might be between a 'purge' and 'execution' in. N. Korea's self-advertised 'workers' democracy'. An anti-aircraft gun does seem something of an "overkill" in swiftly despatching a single human life, but it might not seem that far-fetched given the country's very recent history.

Maybe he was 'purged' by only being shot by a hail of bullets or even more mercifully given hard labour for life? Who knows? I'm sure the Workers' State's thoroughly democratic channels will soon reveal the truth.

However, the multi-medalled military gentleman does seem to have suddenly disappeared from view like most of his former senior colleagues before him. The mystery could easily be resolved by his appearance in public alongside a smiling Kim, triumphantly informing the world he has simply been retired on full state pension?

Now that would be a story!
