Consolation

Should anyone be in need of consolation, here is music of a suitable nature. A concert given by the great Jordi Savall in memory of his recently deceased wife. The second item is Charpontier's Stabat Mater. Extremely repetitative, like a lullaby for a child, but , to me, carrying so much in warmth & tenderness. Sad, but containing much consolation within. Also, the filming is superb & supports the atmosphere to perfection.

There is a recording of the whole concert by requesting ' Jordi Savall, Le Concert des Nations ' in which the Charpentier is the second item. A record of a truly memorable occasion.
