Journalists love to insert verbs like 'admitted' and 'insisted' which subtlely disparage. Mr X 'insisted' that ('methinks he doth protest too much'), Lord Hall 'admitted' - when he made a statement. It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. If it were a private business (his money) he'd probably be in a bit more of a hurry to cut out the dead wood. As it is with the licence payer funding their (and his) salaries and bonuses it's not really that important and he'd rather not rock the boatI have a medical condition- I am fool intolerant.

Wadda we want? Less () senior managers. When do we want 'em? NOW ....
I wonder who would be griping at the amount the BBC had to shell out to compensate demoted or dispensed with employees if they had to be got rid of instantly? Hall has been in post slightly less than two years. It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal.
