And who does it get out to? To people who generally haven't a clue about the law.

Strong case for better education I'd say.

The fact is that nowadays (and I think when King was sentenced) 'victim statements' and Social Services' victim assessments are an important part of the sentencing process.
In the King’s case, the message is being made very clear by the cultured section* of our society’s continuous admiration for King’s work and the complete indifference to the victims’ sufferings.
    * it has enough knowledge about the law in such cases,

        Hiya teamsaint,

Concerning the Judge it feels as if he/she have been reported.

Regarding the King case the lack of ban on working with children is extremely worrying.

You must have been very quick to catch that before I deleted it.

I suppose no messages can be 100% effective. If you don’t get it, you don’t get it.

            I don't get what you get,I'm afraid.

But I don't have any concern for King's work, and I really don't have indifference towards anyone's suffering.

Most of what I get has been expressed on this thread so I won’t go on about it.

The BBC seem to have no qualms about playing Robert King; do a quick search on the BBC Radio 3 web site and you'll see several performances, especially on Through the Night.

Widdecombe seems to have rather less tolerance for same sex consensual relationships . She is an appalling bigot.

Am I right that since his release King has made recordings with his own label rather than Hyperion?

I think you are correct on all counts there. A very nasty piece of work indeed.
