She was almost 80, Bbm, and apparently wouldn't even be willing to accept 'a boiled sweet'. More on here story here, published over ten years ago.
Her tragedy was that she refused help - she wanted her old home back and if she couldn't have it, she wanted nothing.It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.
