Many, many congratulations and best wishes, Alpie - and no small pinch of commiseration as well; Teaching can be the greatest of professions and the most frustrating (shifting from one extreme to the other at the sound of a bell) - but I have to say that the verdict of every ex-teacher I know has been that the longer they're away from the profession, the less they wish to return to it.
A very long and very happy, restful and fulfilling retirement to you.Numquam Satis!

Perhaps you will find time to revisit the temple of football.
Ever noticed how things are just fine when the bosses are away, but when a few workers are off it all falls apart ?
just checked my state retirement age.
2029....although, like Catch 22.........I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own.

Wonderful, EA, congrats and have a great and fulfilling retirement! I am enjoying your 'modern recorder' thread very much, many thanks, especially as I have now inherited a complete 'chest' of Aulos and Yamaha recorders from Sopranino down to Bass since our daughter recently went up to Uni in London and says she 'doesn't have time for it'...!
However, as a beginner player I am quite fortunate 'recorder-wise' in that I have done quite a lot of work as accompanist to the formidably talented Ross Winters, ( now quite a close neighbour) so I do know what good recorder playing is supposed to 'sound like'!
