    Vanessa Mae off piste

Perhaps she should have stuck to her main trade: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/winter-sports/30005830

... as far as I recall, her main trade was being photographed emerging from the waves in a clinging wet blouse. But my memory does occasionally play tricks.

Pretty spot on this time, I think, vinchaud....

"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
      Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

... she does, indeed, seem to be playing an electric violin.

I was always told that mixing electricity and water was not a clever idea...

Not much safer playing a non-electric cello up a tree, surely?

Even is it is a five stringer (Presumably BWV 1012).

I've been looking through the archives for similar pictures of Ida Haendel...

She appears to be holding a conductor's baton (& waving her arms energetically). Perhaps she hopes to take up a new career & make as much of a success of it as her two previous careers?

Can you imagine a male artist being subjected to this sort of nonsense?

                    Well... sort of, yes....

                    The artist formerly showcased thus:

These are the days of equality, after all....
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.

Well I grant you that the eructational background is remarkable but there ain't no figure-hugging wetness, just his ill-judged tattoo

Yeah. It faces the blurred pic he made us look at of old Spitfires that came out of the cloud a few moments later...
