Went to a pub in Crystal Palace for a beer festival.
Up this huge xxxx me hill.
Drank 9% A over T beer.
Then cycled back down the hill and on to Penge Station.
Don't you kids try that. Proffesionals only.

Now I can confirm that this particular beer festival has taken place - living, as I do, just down the road from the pub (The Grape & Grain) (Jazz every Suinday afternoon and Monday nights the Big Beer Band, lots of wind, ahem). If I were a beer drinker we might have met there, 3VS) And btw, that hill (Anerley Hill) has a sign reading 10% at the top (i.e. 1 in 10) I am quite certain that it is steeper; two other 1 in 10 gradients in the district I am able to cycle up without difficulty; not this one.
I was watching Countryfile last night. Julia Bradbury was on a boat and was sailing past my flat. How ubercool is that!?

Funny you should mention that.
On today's lunchtime news for London on BBC1 they showed the pub where our local montly jazz is put on; a man was murdered with a pickaxe, somewhat a la Leon trotsky, in 1987 (I think they said) - rumours have since circulated that it was an "inside job" as he was a private eye looking into possible informant connections; no one has ever been arrested, to the family's chagrin.
my first 78 [and not from the 70s as erroneously claimed on the clip] but in Dec 52; i must have bought it in '58 or so second hand in Notting Hill .... at the Gate Bookshop .... lovely place it was too ...
