The female reproductive system consists of a pair of ovaries, an efferent duct system, 2 sperm-storing organs, paired accessory glands, and the external genitalia. Each ovary has about 20 parallel egg tubes or ovarioles. Each ovariole has a moniliform series of 2–4 follicles, tapering distally, and provided with a terminal filament and a pedicel.
