          just read Why England Lose

... and was struck by the statistic they derived for successful penalty tactics, shoot to your natural side some 62% and your other side some 38% [ignoring decimals which make it even closer] which numbers constitute the golden mean, or the main ratio in the fibonacci sequence .... so Engerland should play like snails [or their shells, just like the Germans eh] at least in shoot outs ...

          allez les miserables bleus .....

            I’m back!!!

From my holiday in West Wales.
I know what you are all going to say. What compact discs did you play Richard? Well:

            Schnittke symphony no.3
            Schnittke symphony no.4 and Requiem
            Shoshtakovich symphony no.11
            Henze symphony no.1, 5 and 6
            Richard Barratt Negatives etc.
            Brian symphony no.3
Stravinsky Canticum Sacrum, Threni, A sermon etc.
Maxwell Davies Symphony Concerto and Sinfonietta
            Haydn Symphony no.44, 88 and 104

            And the tapes…
            James MacMillan Vigil Symphony
            Stockhausen on music matters
            Messian Turrangular Symphony
            Bjork Debut
Schumann symphony no.3 (William!), a presenter saying “that bit was played by Schiedt”, Leonard Statkin on how to write a tune with Prokofiev and Brahms symphony no.1 finale as examples, Boulez Notations, a few words about Shoshtakovch String Quartets with bits of no.1,3,6,8,12,13,15.

Looks like the playlist of a Madman.

yeh 3VS but which was the ONE, the one you kept repeating? ... that is the sign of madness the compulsive repetition of fragments and the scattering of all else in a distraught untidiness .... sounds just like the canteen [alaskan fish compound and fried potato dust ...]

Make it Schuman and hey presto no need for William!

                  Works played more than once:

                  Henze 5- x 2

                  Messian x 2

                  Negative x 2 and 3 quarters

schumaN and the lectures x 2

But there again. Barratt was the premiere, Messian has only been heard one and a half times before where the likes of Henze 5 and Schnittke 4 has been heard countless times over the year.

                        Thanks calum!

Sorry not to have replied to your 2 Xmas posts - having only just found 'em - thanks for the concern: doing fine if inconsistently on the smokes, ahem. Sunny days ahead will be the incentive to get out and give up properly I guess.

                        Cheers man!
