I gave up about 10 years ago. I went from 14 stone to 18 stone in under a year. It did not bother me that I had cross-addicted to soft-shell crab, stilton, shish kebabs and Toblerone (that's to say nothing of cod & chips, Kung Po Chicken, singapoore noodles, Lasgne, cannelloni, Barnsley chops etc!).

I didn't give myself a hard time - was happy to have beaten the dreaded weed.

After about two years I slowly increased my amount of exercise and gradually cut down on the food. I am back to 14 stone which at 6ft is acceptable these days!
