Sorry aboutthat rather muddled PM the other day. I wish they didn't do all that quoting on the return space.
That's all right saly - but for a moment there, I did think you'd invaded my brain!

Sky's the limit all right. I've had to prise a brand new Blackberry and sundry remotes from her jaws recently. She has her second jab this afternoon, so will be able to take her on long walks. Puppies are like small children; when they're bored they get up to mischief. Still, she's a lovely creature and very sweet natured.

Sky's the limit - hmm, could become a new catchphrase

Technically it's my 19y/o son's dog - he paid for her and funds her upkeep - so he had naming rights. It's not such a bad name; huskies have no homing instincts so if she gets away she'll disappear into the wild blue yonder :)

Better get her a satnav, S_A, especially as she's so keen on gadgets, innit

Am51, since you always correct everybody, no feelings spared, WHY should S-A buy Mahlerei's pup a Satnav, it's not his dog after all.

Back to weather, dodgy would best describe it.. Humid but dull here at the mo.

              Hey Sal!

I just arrived in London in the wee hours and am so excited I could pop! My new place is bigger than expected--worlds apart from last year!-- and much colder. Last night, I kept waking up shivering...better figure out that AC. Oh well, it sure beats being beset upon by a marauding horde of drunken Australians at at 4AM, followed by a bunch of chatty Spanish girls hogging the mirror to blow-dry their hair at eight, ha!

Remember last year I told you I found a place that sells Liberty-print fabrics? Well, I'm about to bust out my interior decorator skills because this afternoon, I loaded up on a bunch of silk for wall coverings and elegant pillowcases (and maybe even some simple curtains, if I can swing it.) I mean really: if you can't find it in the shops, why not make it yourself? I can't even imagine how much money I'm saving. And if I can get ahold of some canvas and paint before the season starts, I'll really have it looking nice in no time. Wish me luck!

Well anyway, off to my errands. Perhaps tonight I'll work on pulling together my private blog as I'm sure I'm annoying the snot out of all the frumps and grumps already as we speak. Sorry about that.

              Here's to the new season...cheers!

Hi there Cavatina - welcome to the ole country! Sorry about the grey skies; it will improve - they say - but Saturday looks grim, it must be said , so I hope you've bought a few woolies and a brolly with you!

I'll drop you my phone number on the other line...

                Cheers!

Sky won't need a satnav as she managed to get halfway to China without directions (she dug up the rose bed). Muddy paw prints everywhere.

Me? Oh no; I just act like a big old kid sometimes. Which reminds me-- is there a patron saint for excitable people with bad nerves? Say a prayer for me if you think it would help...I've got a feeling I'm going to need it!

As you can see, it's well after 5 AM and I haven't slept a bit. (SA: I suppose my morning errands re. fixing my British phone number are now shifted to the afternoon, so bear with me! Nothing personal, heh.) Anyway, the highlight of my afternoon was getting lost and walking all the way from Kensington High Street to Putney Bridge before the river clued me in that I was going the wrong way. Oh, and a close runner-up would be leaving my new artists' canvas by the counter of a vitamin store a few minutes before closing time. Now there's a regular laugh riot for you. Good grief! If I'm this absent-minded now, what's going to happen when I'm older? How can you lose your marbles when you've never had any?

Anyway, after a light supper, I got restless again and went walking from around 8PM to 1AM. Agh, my sandals really did a number on me. I'm too tired to write more here or anywhere else, but thought I'd show you the accent pillow I finished when I got home...not bad for being entirely hand-made from odds and ends by someone who should have been asleep hours ago! Click for the close-up; the detail in the fabric is really something.

Just to stay on topic, here's a rather hilariously melodramatic weather-related song that's been rattling around my brain all day...enjoy!

Excitable people with bad nerves. Err well would St Vitus fit the bill? Not suggesting anything, mind

I've looked him up and he covers actors, musicians and epileptics so seems suitable for lots of us here.

Just been reading Agatha Christie 'Third Girl' were someone was attacked about where you got lost near the Thames last night. Look out when you go off course.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaah - Helen Shapiro Coiffed to resemble The Supremes - origin of the famous injunction: "Bee hive yourself" - and still going, singing jazz these days - in a manner of speaking.
