We are having some light rain here, none too heavy yet. We need a lot here. The soil has two inch cracks where it has dried.

salymap, I hope your war-wound is healing quicly and not annoying.

And at 11.45pm still pouring here. Must check front door as rain has a way of coming in at the bottom whatever the 'experts' do to it.

I think we had at least 14 hours of really heavy rain last night/this morning. Not very warm either now.

Bad news; when I went into the study this afternoon the rain has come through the ceiling and the carpet is soaking wet. Grrr.

Not good, but sortable under the insurance I hope? I had tiles ripped off once, caught tail end of some hurricane, roofers came out immediately and insurance company were brilliant. If it's a flat roof extension then they can be a nightmare, plus finding a competent flat-roofer.

It is indeed a flat roof :( Coming to the end of its life - 10 years since it was redone. Soaked up the water and the carpet is much better; more of a nuisance than anything.

You know me - I wouldn't venture up there any more; that's what sons are for :)

But, as his father you will have to go up and rescue him if he gets stuck up there

Lovely day today but still a strong wind in Kent/SE London

Going to attempt some repairs in the morning as son was called into work early. For once I'm hoping it won't rain :(

I hope Mahlerei is all right on his roof. We had a short but very heavy shower this morning. A lot of military activity on Salisbury Plain is making it noisy too.

just had a 20 minute heavy shower sun now out ... clean and fresh and yard watered! hollyhocks now over 6' and going strong ... yet to flower ...
