As you say, BBM - sunshine was officially predicted, so as usual at this time of year when the sun is about as strong as it gets, I washed out one of my jackets and put it out on the line to dry.

Today I chose to give Helston Flora Day a miss on a cold wet day.

Well, since you ask the question, Pet, it is up here in the north of Scotland. We have spent most of the week in the garden on our sun beds, and at times the heat has been quite vicious. I don't like to sound boastful, and feel really sorry for all you folk who are suffering at the moment, but I thought that I had better answer your question.

Hopefully, it will be your turns next, and quickly.

Apropos the above. Today we are sitting inside with the heating on. Such is the Scottish climate. And do you know what? Serves me jolly well right for being so smug in the above post. LOL!

It's absolutely lovely weather down here. Long sunny spells, close to 20 degrees.

As they say in the papers " Warmer than <insert name of far away place you expect to be warmer than Wiltshire>....."

Perfect for watching the grass grow on our new small lawn.

A cool (and breezy) 11 here now, my iPad tells me, and yesterday was chilly too. Cloudy but dry both days (actually, the garden could do with some rain!).
But it was absolutely glorious on Friday, so that must be what headed south to you lucky guys now.

The sun eventually emerged here in a hazy sort of way, and the shade temperature has managed to reach a warm-feeling 15 C in the gentle breeze. I decided to make the most of it, and took the bike along the Ravensbourne Riverside Walk, from Beckenham to Lewisham, returning via one of London's several beauty spots I've linked to on the other thread - about 10 miles in all.

What a contrast with yesterday! It's been a lovely day here, mostly cloudless, warm with plenty of sunshine. Sitting in my listening room now and it's still 22 degrees at 21.40. This is what a May day should be. The British weather is so unpredictable: Berghaus and white finger syndrome yesterday, shirt sleeves and sunny and warm today.

Turned out to be a great day yesterday, after a gloomy start. I didn't need my fleece on for example!
