Hi sal - it's got up to 19C (66F) out there this afternoon, so actually warmer outside than in the flat!

I told you ages ago a hose pipe ban was on the way!

        Turned out hot again here!

Very warm but haven't had time to sit on garden seat. Am tearing up paper and shredding, why do some people send so many useless catalogues etc with the post?

Hope stormyweatherites have had a good day. Little do Mahlerei's buns know a big dog is closing in on them.
I wish them well. Better than a cat I suppose, from their point of view.

It's sunny here with temps in the 60s F though the brisk ocean breeze makes the air feel cooler. The apple blossoms are out now and are quite a pretty sight though the breeze creates apple blossom "snow" on the terrace which becomes quite slick when wet. Sweeping up the apple blossoms is a daily chore chez marthe.

saly: what a nuisance getting unwanted catalogues. I tend to toss mine in the paper recycle bin. Can you get your name off the mailing list of those pesky catalogues?

warm and muggy this evening ... i announce my failure to win election as a councillor ...spent the whole day in a poorly ventilated council chamber waiting for the results .... some drama of a local kind and we came out all square versus last time with more candidates and better shares so bucked the national trend ... but the middle kingdom is TORY innit .... at elections the stones turn over and they all come out to vote ...

                    **shudder** what a thought, Calum

Congrats on standing and congrats on being unsuccessful - you don't deserve years stuck in Committee rooms with Tories **shudder**

Commiserations, CDJ. But as am51 points out, there is an upside.

Why not move to Scotland? There are very few toerags in our new parliament - 15 - and they're only allowed to speak one day a month. But there's LOTS of SNP. :cool2:

We have just had our first rain for weeks. It smells wonderful. For a while the air seems cleaner and devoid of the heavy musk of plane trees and rape fields. Bliss while it lasts.

"it's a five year plan" says Hughes just now ..... not the real point, any leader who humiliated her movement on this scale should offer their resignation, nothing personal, not anti the man, just how things should be eh ...

...... not raining here and oh how good that would be ... everything covered in saharan brown dust ....

Good morning all. A teacup of rain has fallen but not enough to put anything in the empty bird bath. Foxes stand on hind legs to drink from this in the night, I've seen them. I feel sorry for wild-life in the suburbs while not welcoming them exactly. Hope for more rain today.

Mahlerei ......look forward to the pic of TCO. Nice for my photo file too. bestio

Well, proper stormy weather with downpours here just now, so dust is well and truly laid for a while.

                                Must dig out appropriate footwear..
