Quite similar down here, SA. Strangely enough, Brighton seemed cooler and fresher than inland, where I live!

'Oop 'ere, fresh. clear night, stars down to the horizon, milky way a gauze overhead, easterly gathering force. Bracing, very fine Autumn evening.
That's the way to do it.

Lightning over Caliban's way as I write - two flashes near Paddington and one over Camden Town. He must've gone to bed, or we would have heard!

S-A, could you sort out a nice week of weather in west Wales starting next weekend please?

I'll be on me hols, y'see.

Looking ok from what I can find so far. Dry will do. Anything else a bonus. Need to show our best side to some German visitors.....

After a longish spell of easterlies, dryness and sun, slowly turning leaves, overnight the west has truly moved in.
Swathes of thick rain, scudding clouds, on a persistent W/NW wind. And despite it being westerly, temp dropped notably.

If I believed in God, I would ask him specially to do a bit of interceding on your behalf, TS.

No donner und blitzen down these parts, drat! Rather showery. Were caught in a couple down Brighton, going down to chemo today. But now seems to have settled down a bit(for now!)

After a couple of days of cold weather - friends living higher up the hills reported ice on windscreens for the first time this "Winter" - today was a lovely, mild and sunny morning in the Pennines; perfect walking weather.

I love this time of year - the glow of Autumn with the sun firing up the reds, browns, oranges, yellows and greens of the trees; and the cleansing fragrances of the air: gives me a real and grateful sense of being alive.

We've been having ice on our screens for the past couple of weeks. Today is much milder, and we have had the first rainfall since the last week in September, and even that was very slight.

Yes - the scent of burning autumn leaves indistinguishably intermixed with that of the latest imported skunk being smoked in Brockwell Park yesterday afternoon as I meandered my way round the paths on my bike...

You should be careful, you can get arrested for cycling while under the influence.
