Yes, but for where? Weather forecast on R4 at 5.57 tonight again lumped "N Ireland and Scotland" together. So weather in Yell and Enniskillen will be the same. Yeah, right.
The forecaster also said "temperatures between 16º and 23º", so not much of a difference there.
I'm paying £146 a year for this drivel!
Better off spending it on music, and joining in the banter on here from time to time - all in friendly fun with huge amounts of knowledge, advice and priceless anecdotes as well - a bargain, in fact.

It's been a long time since I've taken any notice at all of a weather forecast. In fact I can't remember the last time I watched or read one.
Well, something is at work oop 'ere. For the third day running I awoke to find that someone had made off with our fells. Total whiteout practically down to ground level. Muggy, rainy, cloudy, misty. Weird.
The monthly outlook issued this morning on the BBC weather section has no hope of any improvement. Ok, so the heating is not on but I'm wearing the same clothes as I would be at Christmas.
I am interested to know whether El Nino is at work still?
The after-effects probably are, but TBH I don't know much about the subject, and wonder if any of the experts really do.
Here's a link to someone who clearly is an expert, setting out the various alternative scenarious pertaining to our summer weather. He explains them better than I could:
This is another updated version of my previous articles- I don't know what to do with those! As in winter, the biggest determining factors in what weather the British Isles gets are the strength and positioning of the jet stream. When the jet stream is strong, we get low pressure systems tracking...

This must surely be the worst summer on record. ....
Whatever has happened to the glorious summers of my youth and early adulthood? It's not just looking through rose tinted spectacles; my diaries bear witness to those great summers. What has happened to the prolonged hot, sunny weather we had in the 1960s and 1970s? The last truly great summer we seem to have had was 1995 and even that wasn't a patch on 1975 or 1976.
... but wasn't 2003 pretty amazing? Or was it just a long very hot and sunny autumn that year???
... ah well, there's an easy solution, and one that mme v and I are about to take. Current predictions: weather north of the jet stream unstable, recurring depressions; south of the jet stream - set fair, high pressure, hot and dry.
It's absolutely bucketing down here right now, and the temperature's fallen from 22 C to 17 C in less than 5 minutes! I'm expecting today's first crack of thunder, any time.
We've had a big black cloud hovering over us for sometime today, expecting thunder but nothing came, well apart from some heavy showers, which was predicted. Ah well! :)

Here in Bristol the only decent summer of recent years was in 2014. A gorgeous July: endless days of sunshine. A dull August but then a very sunny September.
