The clouds have been building all afternoon, but so far producing no more than a light shower here. But I have read that some distance from Canterbury has had 60 mm rain from a thunderstorm this afternoon. Bad aiming by the Almighty!

Warmest day so far this year - 18 C before the cloud spread in.

Is it time to start a Stormy Weather II thread?

The weather for the past three days has borne little resemblance to that forecast. Mostly very sunny and a good deal warmer instead of the predicted thundery downpours. It looks downhill from now with some really low temperatures for the time of year forecast for Saturday.

            Sleet!

Luckily, no reason to go out (no kids to take to their music lessons, football matches, or pony rides, ha ha!; not even a dog to have to go for a walk with), and enough provisions are in, so I can settle down on the sofa with a guilt-free conscience and a mug of coffee and learn about Hildegard.

1° C when I left home at 7.15, but it's a lovely sunny day here.

At work, so Hildegard will have to be Listened Again to.

It's been really nice here today - reached 15.5 C (that old 60 degree F psychological threshold) despite some pollution haze and a fresh wind. Shame the work I need to do meant not visiting the Japanese Garden in Peckham Rye, since the blossoming is spectacular right now in this part of S London, and it looks to be back to wrap up well weather for the next week, starting from tomorrow.

Is anyone doing the London Marathon this Sunday? It's expected to be on the chilly side - "Don't forget to bring those bin bags", recommended the weather forecaster just now. Can't imagine what she was on about!

I think I'm right in thinking Mahlerei still posts on here from time to time? Maybe we should wait until his name appears on the "Who's on the forum right now" list, and use the opportunity to PO him? Oddly enough it didn't take long to load just now.

Didn't take long too load at all, don't know what the fuss is about!

It's been a very strange April here. The odd good day or two here and there but for the most part it's been a real struggle to escape winter's grip. Temps milder this week but still spoilt by a stiff, very cold breeze, really pushing those temps down. Again this weekend the forecast is for us to barely scrape into double figures which is chillier than it was on Christmas Day (got up to 12 degrees here that day and the night was positively balmy).

                        Hoping for better things.

I think we probably have sunny intervals and maybe some showers, even!

Similar weather here in the Pennines - Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday all gloriously sunny and warm; then Friday cloudy and ryddu COLD. A bit better today - more sunshine than yesterday, and not quite as cold.
