One heck of a wind blowing today! No rain but, God, that wind!
Stormy Weather

That so-called "wind chill factor" really does count for something, doesn't it? I only ventured out to get in some wood for the wood burner and if felt like Siberia without the snow and ice, yet the temperature was around 12 degrees!
I'm sure that someone must have noted something along these lines previously (and I'm not about to trawl through the entire thead to find it), but almost 15,200 posts about the weather has to say something, n'est-ce pas?...

Lovely this morning to wake to clear sky, frost, then sun, remaining chilly at 8C but quite invigorating to be out and about in it. Alas it was to be but a short lived interlude here as it's started raining and now a new storm, Gertrude, is forecast. Amber warning for N. Ireland, parts of Scotland, NE & NW, just a yellow warning for other parts
(I just don't know when I'll be able to spend a weekend in the garden, the ground is still a quagmire but I do finally have tete-a-tetes in flower, which look lovely)

We were threatened with strong winds of 60 to 70 mph in this neck of the woods today, courtesy of Storm Gertrude, but in the event it was no more windy than normal and it passed very quickly if it was there at all. A damp squib, thank goodness, hardly a storm at all.

Gales and lashing rain here in Stirlingshire yesterday followed by snow in the night and a short blizzard when I went for the paper at 7 am this morning. A thaw has taken place during the afternoon but more sleet is promised for tomorrow followed by 65 mph winds on Monday. Dearie me!
