Checking my weather diary I see that this is the first properly wet day we've had in London since Feb 19th, and the temperature has not exceeded 11 C.

We've been needing this, there's no doubt about that; but what we now need are some decent growing temperatures for a good summer/autumn harvest, and apart from the odd warmish day here and there to come, there's no sustained summer yet on the horizon.

A horrible wet day yesterday but hey ho we do need much needed rain. Not all that much, really this year?

A good day today and I hope a good one tomorrow, as a niece of mine will be getting married tomorrow!

Cool breeze expected, BBM, so a few extra wrappings would be advised, but no rain gear required. Best wishes with the niece's wedding: don't overdo the eh?!

I picture Mr & Mrs. Bbm huddled in scarves on adjacent deckchairs with a nice crate of secreted underneath to keep out the cold

A better day than yesterday in that it was sunny but the cold wind is still a problem, dropping the temps by several degrees. Still Berghaus weather here.

What is it with the wind? There can barely have been no more than a couple of calm days here this year. All other days there is a punishing wind, sometimes very strong indeed. BBC weather forecasts hardly give it a mention but the wind is so often a decisive factor.

Hope weather today bodes well for us, especially as a niece of mine is getting married today, at a nearby village!

Well the weather turned out to be a gorgeous Saturday. We were all worried, about the weather earlier on but something was on our side! Free booze too! I stuck with the Harvey's of Lewes Brewery, and had no trouble with that! My niece looked stunning in herr off white dress. She has a very nice husband, couldn't have wished for a better man for my niece.

                          'Cool breeze'. Hmm.

I love the way pro weather forecasters on TV / radio talk airily with a smile in their voice about 'breeze'.
Yesterday, oop north, the westerly so-called 'breeze' had an incisive and very chilly edge. Plenty of sun, yes, but genuinely cold

So when does a 'breeze' become a 'wind'?

At 10 mph in London, 25 mph in Cornwall or Aberystwith, and 50 mph in Wick, wouild be my guess.
