"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
      Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

The last few posts are a dump from my Announcement which has now been deleted

              Bright sunshine here, but coldish.
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

Much the same as here. I just forked out nearly 20 squid on plants from my favourite local garden centre - 2 fuschias, 2 variegated ivies 3 nasturtiums and a Bidens Yellow Charm to variously adorn the pots with the fuschias, and a Houttuynia cordata Joker's Gold (green, yellow, pink and orange foliage) to occupy a sunlight space on the south-facing bed. I thought that lot was pretty cheap. It seemed a good moment to spray the moss-encrusted clothes line area with moss killer - the hand-sprayed liquid works oppositely from the dilute stuff we used last year in that the former has to be applied when rain is NOT expected. So I'm feeling pretty chuffed with myself! The gardens look lovely around here, with bluebells already out and enough cherry blossom still on display to compare proudly with Japan at this time of year!

Both sets of forecasters predict cool changeable weather until the weekend, with temperatures possibly rising to something like warm at the end of the bank holiday.

No VN - the one I've referred to is located behind Sainsbury's in Upper Norwood, and it's called The Secret Garden Centre.

Supposed to be raining all day today. Certainly a few spots of rain, nothing more and windy, so maybe there will be later?

One noisy downpour in the early hours, and a little drizzle later, followed by rather a nice morning.
