That's right greeny. I'm expecting a real hammering from around teatime, Weds, to rush hour Thursday morning, right across England and Wales this time. Any plant pots, outside furniture, especially on south-facing balconies, should be brought in, I say.

Not too bad a day here, cold but dry at least.
If we'd hung out the washing here it would have been in Edinburgh by now.

And bewilderingly, for once, the weather bods on TV and radio are UNDERplaying it.
Woops, forgot, a lot of this isn't yet in the South East.....watch the 'weather chaos' headlines when it hits beyond the Watford Gap.

i cannot keep up with the alternation between yellow and blue swathes on the beeb weather and whatever i set the heating to do in consequence is wrong

wet windy and quite warm outside, i shall revert to sticking my head out to see what the weather is doing

What a mixed bag today. Strong winds with light right then bright sunshine, bringing the temp down to 7C!

Snow all day, today, with the likelihood of more tonight. About four inches, but the first of that depth for several winters.

Snow here today, too. Nothing much to write home about, though the buses were off for a time, and some of my colleagues had difficulty getting to work. It must be said, though, that buses in Dundee go off at the least excuse, and should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves.

This, at the junction of two fairly steep hills, was rather spectacular. Fortunately no-one was seriously injured.

Yikes, big drop of snow due here overnight.
Making my long drive to good old Sussex by the Sea tomorrow look rather less likely to happen.

I thought of Eastbourne, too (used to live there) - sounds like you're going near the bit where the KwikFit etc is - and, if you're coming from the A22, you'll go right past my old digs, ts (just before the level crossing at Hampden Park. if you want to give a wave).

A very light dusting of snow this morning in the Pennines - looks very scenic.
