Windscreen scraping required near me this morning. It is now a lovely sunny morning.

Dry weather in Glasgow today, too - & very welcome it is too! No frost though, although I thought there might be when I took the dog out last night. The past few days' wind & rain have stripped a lot of leaves off the trees, which is a pity as they were looking splendid in autumn colours. I'll need to get out & fill up some bags for the garden before they get mashed to a pulp by traffic & feet.

Crisp, cold and sunny today in the Pennines - a perfect Autumn day. I'll say this for the last time now (no point in repeating it every day until March) but these dark afternoons are really depressing: and it happens so suddenly - half-past two = bright sunshine; half-past three = dull & gloomy. First year that I've noticed this.

People should be warned - with a "n", not an "m" - that winds go around to the north on Tuesday and Wednesday of next week, bringing maximum readings down to the + 10/+ 11 C range in the South, and minima low enough to suggest bringing less hardy pots of plants in from the exposed places in the garden.
