Well, out walking the dogs in the Cheshire countryside today,it was as if we had gone back in time to June.
Lovely warm sunny day,a bit breezy though.
Quite similar on the other side of the Pennines but I wouldn't go quite so far as to describe it as "warm", though - more "warm for the time of year and in comparison with recent chill".
Similar start to this morning here, too - but dark clouds are lowering, readying themselves for the rain forecast for this afternoon.

Three nights with heavy rain. Rainy season (makes sense!).
The latest Atlantic ex-hurricane is due to make its way across northern Scotland tonight, bringing a trough of low pressure and associated gales across the whole country by breakfast tomorrow, severe gales being expected from approximately Birmingham northwards. While by no means unusual at this time of year, it's a shame when it comes when most of the leaves are still on the trees, though quite a lot have fallen already. Perhaps they know something!

Oh dear warfarin blood test appointment at 08:30 tomorrow and my dinghy is nowhere in sight
An atrocious day! Leaving the office at 5.15 was a complete nightmare with a savage head wind and lashing rain. I was soaked in seconds. The Berghaus was useless in stuff like this: the hood is too small, the toggles keep coming undone and the zip is a dead loss. These coats are not cheap but they are not as good as one I used to have that was as cheap as chips and lasted for years.
