Three thunderstorms here, none of them amounting to much (though someone nearby must have got the really heavy rain), and the last one now just moving away to the south, leaving a very impressive cumulonimbus anvil cloud stretched across the sky.

Better weather starts from tomorrow, only expected to last to Sunday, but return towards the end of the month.

Some torrential showers in the centre this pm - now cloudless skies for the ride home

Ta for the loan of yer Orb, Bbm

Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
      Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Hmm. Hail and one clap of thunder in Herstmonceux at lunchtime. Heathfield seems to have escaped it. Very localised, it seems.

Hope it lasts until Sunday, as I'm due to shoot at Bisley, and hate shooting in the rain!

Poor old Bisley. I hope you're a poor shot!

A brief thunderstorm this afternoon in South Yorks, then a beautiful calm pastel sky this evening.

32 degrees C for the 21st day in a row! Mrs Pab says that El Niño doesn't really bite until June

Oh dear! Not good news then Pabs, El Nino!

Well, I've lived through it before (Mrs Pabs many times). I prefer La Niiña though - all the Filipinos go round in jackets, complaining of the cold, because it's 24 degrees!

Well, here in Ultima Thule we were promised light cloud for today and some sun.
As I look out, thick cloud is just about down to rooftop level - NOT an exaggeration - and it is raining.
So much for the high pressure system bringing the hottest weekend of the year - well, 'oop north on't'fells, anyway. Swindle.

Bit of a shock to the system today - not the fact of waking up to blue skies and sun but setting forth at 7.45am without a jacket, nor the trusty Berghaus in case of showers! I'm sorry to hear of Draco's clouds and rain - here it's a very warm,19.9° as I type, a few clouds building now. However yesterday morning we did have a thick frost (enough to ice up windscreens) although it became very warm. Lovely to have such light evenings and dusk not even thinking of setting in until way past half-nine, couple of lovely starry nights last few days.

Assuming it holds for the weekend then gardening must be done (having completed, for the time being, decorating) although the ground is still very wet in places and hasn't warmed up at all for sowing.
