As to inflation, cost of living, items in the "shopping basket" are added/removed yearly to reflect consumer trends. The March 2014 one has added to it: Necklaces; Netflix; flavoured milk; plant food and fresh fruit snackpots amongst other things. Items removed include takeaway coffee; wallpaper paste and DVD recorders. (Necklaces are now a must-have item??)
As to the N. Wales earthquake - it was definitely in the 80s, cannot remember the exact year but it wasn't the mega Lleyn one in 1984.
Ontopic: yesterday was really hot and sunny at over 15°, today started wonderfully, clouded over early afternoon but still feeling warm.

It actually hit 18 C here before the cloud spread over this afternoon, with a couple of drops of rain. The sun's now breaking through, lower clouds coming down from the north-west with temperatures back down to 14 C and a moderate breeze a-blowing, so I guess the cold front has passed through as the promised weakening feature, slightly ahead of schedule.

Most people seem to have gone away already, judging by the dearth of discussion and topics on the forum at the mo'. Can't say I blame them, but there's plenty on to bring or keep them here this weekend, apart from the expected rain!

After a warmish week we went back to winter today with a strong cold wind blowing. Not pleasant.

as one lay abed on this sunny morn, the house shook and the earth rumbled and one thought 'oh just another earthquake' ..... the dragon stirred again in the middle kingdom ...

Well, I'm at work today and Monday to attend to the needs of the great British public.

I was however off yesterday, and went with some family members for a Delicious Lunch at a certain establishment in Anstruther*. It was a lovely day, around 16º C, with bright sunshine. There was however a ferocious wind, leading to speed restrictions on the Tay Road Bridge. It's another lovely day today, and the wind has died down.

                            * Anna, the offer is still open.
