Hi pabs! Internet back on a regular basis now?...:(
Not really. We have a wi-fi pay-as-you-go dongle that gives a very slow service in 3G. As for restoration of our landline (and consequent reasonable internet) who knows?
It wasn't at all cold here yesterday at 14° but I stopped painting around 4pm as the light was bad and although I have a pole that the roller fits on painting ceilings is still crick in the neck inducing so I wrappped rollers and brushes in clingfilm and intend to start again shortly on all the fiddly bits (window recess, built-in shelves in alcove, etc) and leave the main walls until, hopefully, it brightens to give more light although not much chance of that, but at least it's dry and warmish again.
Completely offtopic, although I'm not a dog person I met yesterday an absolutely charming wire haired Border Terrier called Raphael, very taken with him, such eyes that looked adoringly at me! (He's been taken in by a friend as owner had sadly died)
... an absolutely charming wire haired Border Terrier called Raphael...
Also completely off-topic, were you aware that all domestic dogs are classified as wolves? Their generic name (genus) is Canis, their specific name (species) is lupus, and they differ only in their sub-specific name, familiaris rather than vulgaris. They are perfectly capable of breeding with each other (shape apart!). It follows that C. lupus familiaris (our miniature Yorkie, for instance) is of the same species as the Big Bad Wolf. The only 'dogs' that are different species from wolves are coyotes, jackals, foxes, African wild dogs and the like.

Is that after Kubelik? Following on from Pab's comment more bitches should be called Virginia!
A stratospheric 14º C at lunchtime today - and then the rain started. Still, it didn't last long, and this afternoon there have been sunshine and the first blue skies I've seen for about a week.

Yes. Over the last 2+weeks Anne Sophie Mutter & Helene Grimaud shared the platform in a 14 concert tour with the CBSO/Nelsons. ASM brought her two mini mini beautifully groomed Yorkie like things to rehearsal & I was rather hoping that Helene, who founded the Wolf Conservation Center in NY, might have brought a couple of her friends & that there might be a chance of breeding or cannibalism Alas, she just brought her own piano...
A very big storm system, if reports from your side are to be believed. Anyway, marthe, your temperatures will be roughly on a par with ours during this coming week. Here it's bright and breezy today, 10 degrees C. Yesterday I was astonished to see bluebells in flower, until I realised that they have to bloom before the tree canopies come into full leaf, shutting out the sunshine needed for their flowering, and that is already happening. I can foresee a lengthy gap this year between the spring bulbs being over, and the late spring and early summer plants coming into flower.
Hello all! I havn't been very well today. The old asthma problem getting in the way. I think this was weather related reaction, this time, as opposed to food! :)
