17 degrees was reported down here in Kent yesterday.
I looked at last year’s gardening diary:
13 March ‘blizzard all night, paraffin heater went out, tomato seedlings all froze’,
24 March ‘froze all day.
Are we still expecting this year’s share of cold spells? But for now, another perfect gardening weather.

Temperature quite a bit down on yesterday as the wind has gone around to the north-north-east, importing a lot of low stratus across London, but still very poor visibility. I hope the latter improves by tomorrow - big family reunion, with two parts based in E Anglia meeting up with one part in the W Country, using London as a sort of mid-point and me as host. Unfortunately there's nothing much on in Town at the moment likely to appeal to all factions, exhibitionwise.

Good luck for your family reunion. Discovery is often better than already familiar things (when it works!!)

Mind, cold spells are one thing, frosty nights quite normal until May, so best to delay the tender annuals and perenials for the time being.

Hope it goes well - isn't Tuesday your jazz night? You could take them all there for the evening!
Over 17° yesterday, think it was only Scotland, the NW, N. Ireland and N. Wales that got the gloomy weather. A friend helped me to clear and reseed a disaster area (5 bags waiting for green collection tomorrow) and like doversoul I'm thinking of what summer vegs I can grow. Cooler today, high of 11.8° blue and sky with occasional high grey cloud, wind a bit cool.

I freaked out when she said Sloane Square, but she's right about the food not being that expensive, as you can see. One can easily make assumptions about restaurant prices in swanky districts. Luckily there are one or two veggie dishes on the a la carte. It looks the sort of place where the Made in Chelsea crowd probably hang out! The W Country lot have to get their coach at 7.30, so no opportunity of taking them to the Amersham Arms. I'll probably be feeling whacked by that time in any case!
