The first of the larger daffs came out today.

Yes was going to mention that the daffs looked as if they were busting to bloom

Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.

The jackdaws were scrabbling down our (number two) chimney for the first time today. Time to light a fire there to deter them.

I'm fond of my Celandines even though they're a pest. Ours are not out yet. Soon enough they will cover the sunny border with a splash of gold. A few brave snowdrops are poking through the soil in said sunny border. Now that the snow of last week has melted, they're bravely opening up in today's brilliant sunshine. We're having a March-like day here in Newport; sunny, with a brisk wind, though from the SW rather than that cold Canadian air. Many people were out walking now that the snow has melted away and the sidewalks or pavements are clear. More snow is due in a few days as the next band of wintery weather moves in.

After two fine sunny days, that pretty much sums it up here too. The forecast for the rest of the day doesn't look exactly good.

Blowing like the clappers this AM down here in Cornwall. Perhaps the noisiest night of the winter chez les MPs. Probably as much a matter of wind direction as actual speed but it sounds very much like the tiles are coming off this end of the house any second

Local forecast says 24mph with gusts of 50, but it certainly sounds a lot more than that!
I keep hitting the Escape key, but I'm still here!
