Scary - maybe the Daily Depress will be proved right. I don't have any predictions beyond that day I'm afraid.

I hope it gets a little colder, there is a nasty bug around -sore throat developing into chesty cough which lingers - and (if you believe old wives's tales) damp and warm sets them bugs a-breeding! I've finalised my travel plans, I leave on the 30th for Lancs for a week, so if S_A has any advance warnings of bad weather I'd be grateful. (Where is mangerton these days - hope he's ok?)
I am here or hereabouts, Anna, thank you for asking. I had a nasty dose of cold at the weekend which left me voiceless. I'm just back from choir practice tonight, and my voice is returning, so should be OK for Sunday's carol service.

OT, Still very mild (9º C), rain, windy but not unduly so. The barometer is reading 973 mb. Very dark here these days, with sunset just after 3.30.

Fair blew down here this evening.
              all passed through now though.

It's the same story here. The BBC Weather Forecast for this part of the Midlands on December 25 is saying a max of 10 degrees C with wind speed of 13mph and cloudy. Would seem to be a fairly normal Christmas Day weather-wise, the sort we've seen countless times before.

Well. let's hope "Wolverhampton Simon" is having us on about Xmas Day then; he's usually so cautious...

Lots of lightning here an hour or so ago; less rain than I'd anticipated. Temperature now 4 C - steady moderate rain.

Blimey yes - started to pelt it down as my bicycle and I reached the road end here, and as I was opening the front door, an enormous lightning flash and almost simultaneous thunder clap made me leap...

Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
                          Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."
