A rather dull, and grey damp day!! :(

Stormy weather indeed in our neck of the woods. We're in the midst of a classic nor'easter with heavy rain and strong wind. Thank you all for good wishes about the tree and house. So far no gales blowing through the house but the tree is still leaning on the roof. Insurance has agreed to cover tree removal and the tree expert will be looking at the situation after lunch. I'm keeping fingers crossed that the removal won't be too difficult. Also fingers crossed that the rain does not turn to snow.

marthe, nor sure if I'm right - is tomorrow Thanksgiving Day? If so, then hope your tree is removed and your turkey and pumpkin pie with marshmallows are served with due ceremony.

Weather here, Monday night was -3, left home around -something Tuesday! Today, probably warmer but a dank drear day, horribly, Novemberish, bring on December.

Oh, have to tell you this. Went into Waitrose for ordinary shopping such as a bottle of bleach (oh, I know, I know, she's killing the environment) anyhows, there it was 'Waitrose Essential Thick Bleach - Mulled Spice' So I popped it in the basket and the nice guy at the checkout, Peter, said 'Blimey, will your toilet smell like Gluhwein?' (Then, he leant over confidentially and said he liked the smell of bleach, it meant everything was clean, and fresh, like lemons, did I like lemons, so we had a discussion about lemons!)

Sorry, that was so off-topic as to be stratospheric!

There is a huge realistic sculpture of a horse somewhere off the M25, on the Kent side, I believe. If I knew more about it I'd send a link.

Oh, absolutely. I'm still trying to imagine mulled spice bleach. It must be a Welsh speciality, probably containing essence of leek, or daffodil (or both!) Sounds right up there with Glasgow's Electric Soup.
