Concerned that there has been no word from Pabmusic yet. Probably no power or internet in what is a desperately sad situation in the Philippines. Always strikes me though that the BBC and others manage to send reporters into even the most inaccessible places soon after these disaster stories break.

I have a colleague who has a number of close relations in the Philippines, and she and her family have been unable to get any information about them. A dreadful situation.

No, but it seems the province where he lives lost its power supply so there's little chance of communication for the moment. I sent an email which I hope he will eventually receive.
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

A proper frost here and at 7.15am this morning it was -1.2°, time to dig out the Paddington Bear duffle coat I think! But although lovely and sunny, only reached around 10°, looking very rainy now and temp dropping rapidly.

(As to Pabs, thanks frenchie for sending email, it's difficult to say much more except that we all hope he, his wife and family are managing to keep safe)

just playing as I am such an utter novice at this kind of thing. The sky over my house about an hour ago.

TBH that is a huge leap forward for me.
been rather inspired by some of the wonderful board photos to take my camera out and about to "up" my game a bit .

Well, forecast suggested showers interspersed with sunny bits What actually happened here was more or less shut down, poor visibility, driving rain, and increasingly bitter NW winds. Hmm.

Time to clear indoor spaces/greenhouses for those tender perennials to be brought inside on Sunday, as the first proper cold spell of the winter comes next week. Possible snow in Scotland, northern and SW England and Wales next Tuesday and Wednesday, says Brummie Simon.
