A prisoner on death row decides on mushrooms as his last ever meal.
"Why mushrooms?" the prison guard asks.
"Well, I've never had them before" the prisoner tells him.
    "How come?" the guard asks.
"I never dared", the prisoner replies.

A mushroom omelete walks into a bar and says "pint please"
Barman says "sorry we don't serve food".

            Memphis Slim joke:

"Clear Waters - that's Muddy Waters' son - goes into a bar in Arkansas and asks for a hamburger. "Sorry kid", the waiter tells him, "We don't serve negroes". "That's okay", says the boy, "'Cos I don't eat 'em. Gimme a hamburger".

Shearer update(our cat). His medical problem has returned we think. Phone call from vets, saying want to do a more in depth analysis of the urine sample that we sent in. They want us to bring him in for a chat and see him, how he is. and make a decision.

Yes, everything seems to be happening right now for you, BBM, and I really do hope all turns out for the best.

Lost my house keys on the way down to the cycle shop - goodness knows how: I put them into the same pocket as the loose change, which was all still there. Fortunately the nice Irish neighbour I once embarrassed by telling a "naughty" joke in front of her friend - a nun, unbeknownst to me at the time - is in possession of a ladder, and from the top of it I was able to lever myself in through my first floor bathroom window, whose fanlight I had left slightly open. Phew!!! It would have otherwise been a question of smashing the front door glass, I guess. Fortunately I have spare keys inside the flat - I must find a suitable hidey hole somewhere in the grounds in case there's a next time!

I have to say the service from two young lads at Brixton Halfords was excellent, nothing being too much trouble, and all the necessary adjustments - saddle, brake, pedals, handlebars - were done on the spot. I ended up having to pay for replacement pedals, but they only came to £12, and now that the snagging of the front brake has been fixed - the spring was out - the new bike goes like a rocket! Can't wait to cycle over to my regular Tuesday night jazz gig in New Cross!

Never good when that happens SA!

Well, his lordship(Seharer), has been given some more anteb's. This time, better one, apperantly, because the last ones didn't worki well for him. So we now hope that these will work!!

A cat I knew, Wilfred (after Thesiger), had kiddly and bladder problems several timec around the age 7 mark but went on to live to a great age, about 15 I think, so Shearer's recurring problems may not necessarily prove immediately doom-laden Bbm

Wilf's great penchant was for catching butterflies and moths in the garden, a rather amusing sight. I used to say to him "Don't you come near me with butterfly blood on your breath!"

Blimey, the traffic around New Cross can be quite lively as it is, S_A - mind how you go.

I dunno, nuns and ladders, who'da thunk it
