On the subject of bikes, I paid a visit to Evans Cycles website, quite shocked to see that they had no road bikes under £400. Waiting with interest for report of S_A's return trip to Halfords with bent spoke and result - will he go for the more expensive model?
Also, S_A brought up the subject of Vitamin D, I've just seen this in The Guardian: In the absence of sunlight or supplements, eating mushrooms is a good way to up your vitamin D levels, and the only vegetarian food source of vitamin D (ergosterols in mushrooms convert to vitamin D when exposed to light). Vitamin D deficiency is thought to be quite widespread in Britain.
They are also a good source of B vitamins, which help provide energy by breaking down proteins, fats and carbohydrates, and play a key role in the nervous system. Betaglucans in mushrooms appear to boost immunity and help resistance against allergies. The selenium and ergothioneine may help protect our cells from damage that causes chronic disease
Ontopic: Very warm here at 20.7° but early blue skies and sun was replaced by cloud, which I suppose keeps the heat in.

Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Seriously, I always thought mushrooms were just mainly water with no nutritional benefit. But, I've got into chestnut or portobello ones (still think the white button ones are tasteless) over the past few months, in fact tonight will have a mushroom, leek and creme fraiche with fresh pasta meal. Shavings of parmesan of course!
