The BBC forecast for yesterday (a day full of heavy rain & thunder storms) was way out. We had a few spots of rain before dark but we had a fair bit thereafter but of the steady rather than the deluge variety and the occasional drum roll of thunder & flash of lightning.
Today is meant to be cloudy & sunny and dry until after dark ... we'll see

No beer here -wouldn't mind a Pimms no 1 and a nice big terrace to sit and drink it.
Do people still have Pimms'?
On topic -blustery, still muggy but, as ams says, we also had a clap of thunder, a little rain, that was that.
Where is S_A . His weather forecasts are needed. Hope all is well there S_A.

Just chuck in some bits of cucumber and mint and a sliced strawberry and then stick some opera on, lie back and think of Glyndebourne!
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

I wonder if S_A has got internet problems again? He's not been around since the 26th.
Comparing the BBC and Met forecasts, they both agree about showers developing but the BBC says we are to have thunder and lightning from 6pm as against the 1pm forecast by the Met. It's a mix of sun and cloud here, breezy, 20° so not cold enough for a jersey/jumper/sweater!
(My rather old Oxford dictionary defines a jersey as being close fitting; a jumper loose fitting and reaching the hips; a sweater is worn after exercise to avoid chills. We didn't mention pullovers did we? To me they have to have a V neck to qualify. Is there a word for sleeveless knitted tops - I know they became known as tank-tops but in old photos all small boys wear them, so what were they called then?)

Thanks Anna, my flip comment yesterday intended no insult to your teddy's looks, or indeed your men friends.
Character is what counts most
We wore 'tank tops' or sleeveless waistcoats with a blouse and skirt - trousers not allowed in the office.
No jeans or hipsters until about the late 60s. I see another topic arising.......
