A few years ago, two Canadian friends returned home with several bottles of salad cream, which, I was told, they'd never ever tried, as it's unavailable across the Pond.
Only if he also puts some salad cream in his ham sandwiches (which have to be thickly sliced crusty white bread)
Glad to know that Calum's sprog and her Ma, S_A and his Canadian friends also share my tastes! (And it's rather nice with chips rather than mayonnaise because of the vinegar content)
OT, I think after possible rain on Tuesday we are still on for increasingly settled weather and getting much hotter (29-30°) by around 7-8th July?
Yes, good news about Shearer coming home (although I imagine bad news re the size of the vet's bill!)
Bad news too about your neighbours thoughtlessness S_A, although I suppose you could have phoned the Police and got them to break it up.
Hovering just below 21° here but, after a very still night, we again have a strong WSW wind at between 13-16mph with stronger gusts, which is really quite unpleasant. My beans are not enjoying it, I've just had to put more ties on them.
I said I was having salad and new potatoes and so were others:
Does anyone else indulge in my guilty pleasure (only in the privacy of your own home of course) and add old fashioned salad cream?
No!! Dreadful stuff. Mayonnaise, on the other hand......
OT: Dry, not particularly cold or warm, but very windy. Big excitement in the town today here.

Yes, acording to Gary Nicholson, Simon's dep, it's supposed to get back to the current temperatures we're having here (23.5) by about Friday. Off for a walk now - or a W-A-L-K, as my dog-owning friend would say - then a bit of self-display on the greensward out the back with A Good Book.
Dramatic stuff. Hope all went well though and trust the church is still intact. Good to see preperations for sealing the organ were carried out due to dust. The wind wouldn't have helped matters in this regard. Amount of dust we get normally here is unbelievable.

Mangerrton, those flats were totally out oif character for the area, dont you think?I should think that you and the rest of the locale, were pretty well glad about this!
A lovely day today. Just waitingf to here about how Shearer is doing now! They have kept us updated as to the coast. MrsBBM, has found a pet plan that covers for senior cats, as Shearer is 9 next month and also current conditions too. he also has a heart murmur, bless him.

Did you go to watch the demolition mangerton? (I think I would have been inclined to do so)
No, I was otherwise engaged. It was scheduled for 12 noon, at which time I was in church (choir's last Sunday before hols, and of course I'd been away for the last two weeks).
In the event, the demolition didn't take place until about 1.00. My understanding is that they forgot to bring a box of matches to light the fuse, and as all the shops in the area were shut for the demolition, they had to go some distance to find a shop that was open.
In response to other comments, the church survived unscathed, though there really was not much room to spare. If you look on Google earth for Derby Street Dundee, you'll see what I mean. There was quite a lot of controversy in the local press about the demolition. Dundee had a number of these large blocks, built in the 60s and 70s, and these are the latest in a series of demolitions which have taken place over the last few years.

That's so funny - and no-one thought to ask bystanders/passersby if anyone smoked and did they have a lighter? (Bob Servant would have been on the case in an instant!!)
I must say, that video does not give the most flattering picture of Dundee .... it's much nicer than that.

Indeed, Anna - I hadn't realised electronic ignition had not yet reached that part of the world.
