Best wishes to Shearer for a speedy recovery. Cyber strokes and a tin of virtual pilchards wending their way across the ether to him!

Bit gloomy early on, now sunny with broken cloud and 18° Perfect for gardening.
(I'm listening to The Match on TalkSport, was invited to the pub to watch it big screen but I have forebodings about the result ..... )

yep hope Marthe is ok, her side of the USA is going to be wet this weekend; the other side will continue to be very very hot in the range 45 - 55C .... it does not get hotter on Earth than that - friends in Phoenix barricaded in the air conditioning

overcast and 18C here ... neither nowt nor summat eh?

oops forgot to wish Shearer well, the cat that is

They are level pegging with Australia at the moment but have made some very stupid mistakes .... plus, the Ref is Craig Joubert I might leave the radio on and float in and out of the garden if the listening gets too painful!

19 C, gentle nor-wester, sky a third covered - small cumulus with thin altocumulus above - just right for neighbour's barbie queue, to which I am invited.

S_A Your gentle nor-wester is still too windy to sit in the garden here.,

have a nice barbie. lucky lad, saves thinking about what to cook later.

It's hotter here at 21°, long strips of thinnish cloud (I must learn my cloud formations!), sporadic wind. Given up digging, too warm, but have repotted my basil and various other potbound houseplants. Really fancy a barbeque now that S_A has mentioned it but it's going to be *salad tonight so no cooking required (apart from a few new potatoes)
*using a tray of living leaves!

I saw 'living leaves' in Waitrose, Finchley Road (John Barnes as was) this very afternoon, Anna

I may have salad with my lamb and mint sausages. Never tried them before so we shall see.

If and when I get a lift to my nearest Co-op I shall ask to see someone about the living leaves issue.

Well, Praise The Lord Ams. Finally you have dispelled the rumour put about by some here that living leaves are confined to The Principality solely for consumption by Welsh leaf-munchers!
