Just coming up to 21:15 and it's still light enough to read a magazine (ok IRR ) outside, a couple of blackbirds serenading the neighbourhood - marvellous
We found that too! Just that time is our bed time, as we have to rise early for work.
I hope thisSunday wont be too bad, as it's my birthday that day, it would be good to have a sunny day. The wind may change!

Make the most of today, tomorrow and Friday, BBM - it looks likely to cool off after that. Shame: I was looking forward to getting out and about on Sunday.
Marthe alert: Something weird resembling a mini-hurricane heading north up your part of the coast on Saturday!
Yes indeed! The first named storm of the hurricane season is making its way up north. Said storm is called Andrea and is now a Tropical Storm...still dangerous but not quite hurricane strength. The weather gurus are predicting that we will be having a "rain and wind event."
Good luck to Marthe and a very happy birthday on Sunday to BBM
saly
I second both: the link below shows the situation expected to unfold in marthe's part of the world over the next couple of days. This is remarkably early for this to be happening and I'm afraid doesn't bode well for us on this side, because on linking into the temperate zone's upper circulation tropical depressions give an extra boost to the jet stream, thereby intensifying depressions reaching us across the Atlantic - normally not a feature until September.
"Brummie Simon", back from his meteorological jolly in Scandinavia, has posted a link to a "private video" which purports to be the medium range forecast from today, but can't be accessed, which is rather strange. Very thundery-looking sky here right now, in spite of what the forecast said this morning.
Thanks S-A I've had reports of bad weather from Richmond,Surrey and West London today but justa touch cooler and murky here.
The Metrollopes had obviously had a drenching just before I woke up... The sun came out during the morning but it's disappeared again now behind white and light grey cloud cover. So much for the cloudless sky predicted by the BBC gurus...
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."
A glorious day in the end, desp[ite a clap of donner und blitzen this morning!!
thank you salymap for Sundays birthday greeting!! :)
The dying embers of that thundery weather reached us early this afternoon in the form of enough large rainspots to produce a few puddles - interesting from the meteorological perspective but nothing more - and now, it's almost sunny once more, and quite warm here at 20 C with the breeze now died down.
Marthe is really in for it tonight if the forecast proves correct over there - seven hours of either continuous or continual thunder and lightning, heavy rain and high winds, and not even particularly warm! All I can offer is best wishes, Marthe!
And from me marthe. I don't email you much now as I am having trouble with the new BT emails - they
hope to get it sorted in the next few months they say !
