It's been perishing cold here all day (2°C) with occasional snow flurries, but nothing worse than that. On the other hand, I've heard (by phone!) horror stories from colleagues who are severely snowed in 15-20 miles north of here.

Ah well. Friday. Curry night at mangerton Towers.

Snowing since 6:00 this morning on the Pennines and still at it, although the warmer temperature means that the roads have cleared. More like Christmas outside than Easter!

Snowing all day and settling here again in Yorkshire - thw weather feels like it should have been dark an hour ago !

This has been a long cold winter following on from the worst summer I can ever recall . Indeed it feels like this winter started in 2011 .

Apparently, this weather should be in Scandinavia ! So time for some Sibelius or Nielsen perhaps .

It's pretty horrible this evening - driving wind, with increasing rain and decreasing temperatures... But watching the news, the south-east seems to have been the most clement part of the country

snowbound all day - the west coast of Island copped the snow which is situation is rare for the IoM - highwinds brought down trees which blocked several roads - been snowing for nearly 20 hours now tho the main roads are passble with great care - the boats have been cancelled from Thursday night so many get-away for Easter plans were wrecked, the airport is now open tho an earlier inbound flight turned around mid air.

Hardly any snow today in the South Manchester area, yet the forecast was horrendous.
                  Very windy though.

Vile day here in Staffordshire. Heavy snow last night with several inches to trudge through on my way to work this morning. There was also a bitterly cold wind tearing straight in my face all the way. As I write this it has been snowing heavily again since about 7pm and shows no sign of letting up.

This surely has to be the worst March weather that I can recall.

It's still snowing on the Pennines! About three - four inches thick now. Looks very pretty, but I'm glad I'm indoors looking out.

Heavy overnight snow and still snowing. There must be over a foot of snow in places. Sunday lunch for my sister's birthday has been cancelled which means a trudge to the local Tesco to replenish supplies.

Not seen this degree of snow for many years and certainly not as late in the year as this. I recall a dusting of snow on June 2 in either 1962 or 1963 but that soon went. It may have been a purely local phenomenon but wonder if records might indicate when this was as it remains a vivid memory.

Good luck and better weather to all with the white stuff. Early snow has turned to rain here, but bitterly cold and I am staying put indoors this weekend.

Good idea, sals; I popped out to empty some bins and it's very cold out there - and although the snow looks light and fluffy, it's actually coming down quite quickly and it stings the skin.

And, I think I'm getting another cold - sore throat and sniffles. The last one had barely gone!
