But I hope there are no polar bears on this board, or you might be getting complaints about lowering the tone and stooping to page 3 tactics.

It rained all yesterday evening and by the time I went to bed it was hammering down, consequently today with a temperature high of 12.9 and grey mist it's felt quite uncomfortably muggy and close but, hey, there will be yet again no need to expend money on any heating (well, until Sunday it seems when the cold swoops in again)
TGIF is what I say, three most interesting rugby matches this weekend to keep me occupied as Wales play Scotland at Murrayfield ..... my rugby guru friend predicts the result will be a draw at 15-15, that France will finally win a game and Italy will inflict dire physical injuries on the English He's such a little ray of sunshine. Lucky it's only a game that we don't take seriously .......

It's what I say too, Anna & Bbm!! The intense feeling of pleasure on arriving back home on a Friday evening with (as far as one knows!) a relatively unstressful weekend ahead, is almost sinful and never diminishes. It's one of the big advantages of working, I think!

Weather here has been dire too. But as you point out, TGIF - the more so because as I have said elsewhere I'm off work next week.

I'm looking forward to tomorrow's match against Wales. Like many Scots, it's my favourite fixture in the Six Nations.

Yes, I would! There's snow in the drizzle this afternoon in the Pennines!

So, that's Spring over and done with for another year, is it?

Well, certainly for the next 12 or so days, if the various forecasters are to be believed - and there does seem to be some unanimity between the different "models" being presented; Monday is going to be a particular brute - it will feel like the coldest day of the winter with a nasty wind-chill, and quite a bit of snow anticipated for counties south of the Thames/Somerset Avon. After the 20th the Azores High is expected to put in an appearance, pushing a ridge north-eastwards and bringing milder south-westerlies.

I hope you have a lovely time, and having read the Visitors Guide to the Dark Sky at Galloway I am consumed with envy. It must be marvellous to be in such darkness and see so many stars. And, of course, remember to pack your broom handle to rest your binoculors upon and the red sweetie wrapper for the end of your torch! Will you have access to a telescope? I do hope you will report back on what will probably be an amazing experience.
I am ignoring S-A's forecast in the belief that if I put my fingers in my ears and say "I cannot hear you, Nah, Nah, de Nah, Nah, Nah" that it won't happen!
