It's snowing in Kent/London borders too. I've stocked up on my favourite Cumberland enormous sausages, braising steak and bananas and am staying put.
I hope our friends here and abroad are okay. Yes ams 'orrible Winter indeed.

Quite a Bit of Snow in the coalfields or rather some of the coalfields........
I think it's stopped here and didn't settle but 2 degrees colder than London, and that biting wind that is horrible.
Shall take it easy and watch some of yesterday's TV that I recorded. Bestio
Dry but cold here. No snow forecast. I hope all keep warm. Salymap's got the right idea, and her braised steak and bananas sound like an interesting combination.

mangerton, haha. For different meals for me but I'veheard of bacon with marmalade and other interesting combinations. Perhaps we should start a food thread on that?
Bananas are good for you! I do love Cumberland sausages but with beans and toast or onions and mash! Sounds perfect for the dreary weather we're having today. Cloudy, damp, and waiting for a mix of rain/sleet/snow. It's February weather at its worst. I hope the weather improves over on the other side.
BBM, we're thick in the middle of that nasty wintry mix at the mo. Time for those Cumberland sausages and mash. We can actually get pretty decent English-style bangers from a local supermarket (not part of a chain). They get them from a local company that makes sausages. We can also get lovely pork pies from a place in Fall River, Mass. about 40 minutes drive from here.

Steady marthe, there's a small gaggle of folk on here (me, salymap, Caliban et al) who are very keen on the pork products and I just adore pork pies. Heaven on a plate with a few pickles and a decent dollop of chutney
