BBM, you are a marvel and just think, if your ancestor had not been born the wrong side of the blanket you could be our next King!
Chucking it down here now, just watched the news, misery for many over Christmas.

Well, it's actually STOPPED raining here now - temperature's 11 C; I've known it colder on Midsummer Night!

It looks like there's going to be a bit more rain over the south tomorrow - and a bit more than that over Scotland and the NW, with SNOW over the Shetlands. Xmas Day will be showery, temperatures slightly above average - we could even get thunder!

Oh - I see it's just begun raining again!

At this time of year we do think of loved ones that have passed over. MrsBBM's younger brother died on Christmas Eve, in 1976. Unfortunately, as a result of a motor cycle accident, when a drunken driver knocked him off and the run over him!!
He was only 17, four months away from his 18th.

The sun appeared in Dundee this morning, and was visible until well into the afternoon.

On the downside, there are high winds affecting the Tay and Forth bridges, and the railway between Dundee and Aberdeen is blocked.

This has made it a Christmas to remember. OMG, the local paper will be there I think! I must look my best ..... <state of shock quivering emoticon>
I always knew'd you achieve greatness in whatever sphere you chose, Anna and how appropriate that it is grub

I hope that the connection with your brother will bring a smile to your face too - funny how things 'come round' isn't it?!

(sorry this is a bit late)

Test Paper 3, 1066 and All That:

Question 9: Why do you picture John of Gaunt as a rather emaciated grandee?

I think it was a rhetorical question

NB candidates should write on at least one side of the paper

But should not on any account attempt to write on both sides of the paper at once.

Sun's out again. I hope other parts of the country get some respite too.

The Christmas music is on here too.

We had a collection for BHF at the funeral so I like to think he had a hand in guiding the winning ticket towards me! Hamper collected and it contains:
Bottle of Prosecco, bottle of red, plum pudding, iced fruit cake, almond & vanilla cookies, shortbread fingers, cranberry sauce, jar of dry roast peanuts, cheese & sesame crumbles, spiced Moroccan seed & nut crackers, ground Brazilian coffee, English breakfast tea, whisky fudge, honey & almond nougat, rhubarb & custard sweets and a tin of those lovely old fashioned forest fruit Travel Sweets! A nice selection.

Got soaked there and back, absolutely tipping it down and black as pitch at 9am when I left, brightening up slightly now. I'm in for the day now and this afternoon will cook a ham whilst listening to Carols from Kings on R4.

Did you get your picture took for the Brecon Bugle & Mercury?
