It's cold enough for it in the pit heaps easily the hardest frost of the autumn/winter so far.

So far we haven't had any frosts, I think the coldest it's been overnight is 1.5°. The lovely weather yesterday disappeared and by 6pm it was tipping down, which continued overnight, and now it's just dull and grey, low cloud obscuring the hills and 5°

Once I finish this mug of coffee and reading the headlines online I'll depart to the kitchen .... I was very pleased with my Moroccan lamb last night, I thought perhaps I'd made it a bit too fiery, having used Scotch Bonnet, but it was delish!

I had couscous, livened up with chopped up grilled red pepper, toasted almonds and lots of flat leaf parsley, which was rather nice. I'll probably have rice tonight with it.

The second frost of the Autumn/Winter last night: even now the roofs of the houses where people have gone away for the Bonfire weekend are still ensilvered - and clouds of steam billow from the central heating vents of those who're in. Winter cold: a change from last year, when it was so mild I walked around Huddersfield at the end of November carrying my coat it was so mild - today I feel like wearing it indoors!

The whole meal was. Towards the end I added to the lamb some chunks of sweet potato (which really worked well) and the juice and thinly sliced rind of a lemon, (didn't have any preserved lemons) and it was garnished with finely chopped flat leaf parsley and garlic. How was your Tesco's Finest?
