    Euda,
Love the "looking-up" pictures of the Chrysler Building and Grand Central. Once in a while I'll leave the provinces and head for NYC to visit family. While rushing to Grand Central to catch the Metro North to Westchester, I always look up near the Chrsysler Building just to see it glitter in the sun. Wonderful Deco and Moderne architecture in NYC.

      Great pictures Euda!

I love the Chrysler Building, it's a wonderful piece of architecture. I've been to New York a couple of times, and while initially it can seem overwhelming, I love the place. I think NYC and San Fransisco are two US Cities that really have their own unique- and quite different characters.

Thanks all, glad you like them! Isn't it funny how you can be walking down the street--and without even stopping, capture something unique. Great Neck? I've only been there once...there's a Metro North train that leaves from Grand Central; other than that I couldn't tell you! Very pretty out there, though.

Morning Stormyweatherites, Are any of you still around 'this side of the pond'? We seem to be losing touch.
I think it's still raining, haven't really looked as answering emails etc. What's the latest on the snow?

            Morning salymap
It is trying to snow here - started as heavy rain but is getting whiter by the minute!

Good day to all I hope - but nagging sense of foreboding even this far south just now. Damp, cloudy and if anything slightly warmer than usual.

Morning again anton, post in the 'other place'. Your forecast must have been out then. Keep warm, I'm trying to.

Brilliant sunshine here just now, but there have been a few snow flurries, and it's extremely cold.

Sleety snow here now. And it's turned much colder.

I woke to heavy rain and howling wind, neither of which we've seen here (NW England) for a long time. It's stopped raining now, still windy, getting colder. I must go and replenish the bird food before the garden paths become too icy and slippery.

Has anyone seen the astonishing pictures of the ice-covered lighthouse in Ohio? It looks like an illustration by Arthur Rackham.

sleety rain and windy in the middle kingdom and that awful dark greyness, off to stock up the pantry before we get snowed in next week ... with any luck the forecasts are as accurate as usual and it will just be wet and windy, but it does look like a big Arctic air mass is stuck to the north of us ....

Grey and rainy in South Wiltshire with some very cold gusts at street corners. I noticed snow falling in Coventry whilst keeping a weather eye (sorry ) on the BBC News Channel.

Snow, snow and wind. The wind sluices through the walls of the ol' cottage now, so we pulled out the Italian designed portable self-contained heating units one for each room and three to a bed ! I went out once this morning to make a pot of coffee for a neighbor in recovery from hospital. Thank goodness he has a care-giver, because the ability to trek out is becoming more dangerous with the mind chill HAW! typo but funny ----- and I still hobble with my own cast upon my right leg... ... anyways we are safe and the larders are well stocked.
